Belle Davenport is a woman who is searching.
Searching for love, acceptance, purpose, but most of all, herself. In the midst of a personal reawakening, she meets Frank, a talented yet troubled saxophonist whose musical potential is overshadowed by a dark past. Together, they dive into a passionate love affair that soon begins to mirror the very lives they once vowed to avoid. As Belle and Frank’s bond deepens, they become entangled in the weight of generational curses that threaten to consume them. A murder committed by Frank forces them to flee the small town of Glennwood, Louisiana, for the bright lights and promise of Harlem, New York. While Belle embraces the vibrancy of the Renaissance and discovers personal fulfillment, Frank succumbs to the allure of addiction, abandoning his musical dreams.
In the heart of Harlem, Belle must navigate the complexities of womanhood as she defines the makings of both life and love on her own terms while the ghosts of the past refuse to let go.
